Overheating my Greenhouse is no Fun
The atmosphere is like a bell jar which protects our planet. The gases which make up the atmosphere absorb and withhold a part of the heat which comes from the sun. This natural phenomenon is called the greenhouse effect and without it, the temperature would fall to -18 °C, making life impossible.
However, many human activities alter the natural environment by emitting too many gases into the atmosphere, such as CO2 (carbon dioxide), methane and other pollutants.
They include waste gases produced from burning fossil fuels, gases released from the chimneys of factories and houses and from car exhaust pipes, as well as gases generated by the digestive process of animals. This increases pollution and the greenhouse effect and makes the temperature rise, with many serious consequences…
Our snowman here is a victim of the greenhouse effect. What is he saying? Put the second group of words (those in red) in order to find out!
